Nicole Macias - You’re So Skinny : This painting, created using both acrylic and oil paints, depicts an insecurity which many women including myself experience. As someone with an eating disorder, body weight and size is constantly controlling our minds and perspective of ourselves. No one knows what the “perfect” body looks like, and this piece uses two opposing body types to show that contrast.

Abigail Casimiro - "Death of the Innocent" I used acrylic paint as my medium for this piece. The meaning of this painting is exactly as the title claims. The sheep portrays the innocent while the wolf refers to the horrors or literally everything else.

Jeylin Morales - The inspiration behind this artwork came from small parts plucked out of my life. Wether it's family, myself/identity or religion. I want the audience to see small parts of my life and to make my artwork a way for them to see me as a person.

Wendy Perez - For this painting I decided to use oil paint as my medium because when I was mixing the colors to get the darkness in the opposite side of the sun and it was easier to blend using this medium in between the lightest and the darkest colors. By using oil paint I was also able to create texture in the sand to make it look more realistic. I also made the sand darker to represent the transition into night. My inspiration for this painting was the beach since I painted it during the summer and I wanted it to reflect on the best part of the summer which is going to the beach and watching the sunset.

Aylen Morales - “Fear me” This painting is influenced by the very taunting and immense pain I’ve felt when suddenly getting foot cramps. There’s been times where they’ve happened on amusement park rides and after any sort of dancing, exercising, etc which in turn has limited me from pushing myself further. The nails impaling my feet shown in the painting is a direct representation of the sensation both literally and metaphorically as in one case it serves as a way to convey the pain but in the other sense it conveys the feeling of being stuck in place due to its being. I used techniques like wet-on-wet, layering, and underpainting.

Josue Ramirez-Chilel - This piece took a long time to paint. I wasn't sure what I wanted to paint at first, so I just took my stuff and my favorite pair of shoes and drew them. I added a bit of my own culture by including the national flower of Guatemala, which is called "La Monja Blanca," or the white nun orchid in English. These are just the stuff that I think are nice to me I like my shoes, drawing, music and my culture. That's what is represented in this modern day still life piece.

Gabriela Flores - For this piece, I used acrylic paint as my medium and made my own version of a modern day still life in a cartoon style. In this still life, I included uno cards and potato plushies. This painting represents inanimate objects that are in my day to day life.

Liznette Mendez - This is my painting of two koi fish in a pond. I made the lily pads very bright and colorful because I wanted it to be different and more happy than just green. I wanted to add something that was 3D and that looked like it would go with this painting, so I put these fake flowers to throw in a twist. After I was done, I thought it looked plain so I added the two koi fish with bright colors to not make it look like a normal fish.

Dylan Rowell - My art pieces are forms of 2D mixed media art and drawings. I usually sketch out the concept of what I want to draw out in pencil. Once I'm done, I outline it in black and then add in colors by using marker or paint (depends on the project). I want people to know that it's never too late to learn how to draw. The only way to get better is if you're willing to put in the effort!

Manuel Reyes - In general my process of making art I will look at refcrences from google or sometimes I make my own references in my head. I Start the drawing by sketching the drawing out in paper or a canvas and follow through by doing base color/blocking in colors and then and adding details and finishing up by making the background or fixing things that need to be fixed.

Josue Ramirez-Chilel - "Tote Bag" This custom piece was done last minute with fabric paint on a canvas tote as my medium. None of it turned out how I originally planned. It looked messed up, and I ended up improvising the rest. The text doesn't actually say anything, it just looks cool. I like the way it turned out in the end. It looks a lot better than it was originally going to.

Lesly Campos - This is not something you see everyday, every week, every month, or every year. The reason why is because it's very deep under the sea where the light cannot reach. Dagmar Palacios - This large painting represents a women surrounded by water in darkness with a a star shining bright in front of her. The meaning it is as follows: when you feel like you are drowning in the unknown, just know there's always a little light of hope in front of you.

Semaj Harrison - My piece is called Akasha, this is my take on Aaliyah the amazing singer. My painting is based on her when she was in her break out film called The Queen Of The Damned. I’ve always been fascinated with her character. She played the queen/mother of all vampires, she ruled and was all mighty. Aaliyah was/is a beautiful talent who unfortunately left too soon, so this is my way of showing appreciation for her and her work.

Danny Gonzaga - Snoopy and Woodstock are two beloved characters from the Peanuts comic strip. In this scene, they are skateboarding at the park. Despite their size difference, the two friends are perfectly synchronized as they glide along the concrete, enjoying the sunshine and fresh air.

Elizabeth Correra - This is a painting I made of my dog. I tried to make it as realistic as possible by using small brush strokes to create the soft visual aspect of his fur. I used a dark background to make his white fur pop out and make him stand out as much as possible. This painting took me a while, but the final product was worth the wait.

Wendy Perez - For this painting, I got the inspiration from the stained glass usually found in church windows. I was able to paint opposites like the sun and the moon while still maintaining a balance. The river in the middle with the sun and the moon are a symbol of peace and calmness formed from opposites. I used oil paint as my medium because, in my opinion, it is the the best medium to show texture. When moving the paintbrush with different colors, it is able to show shadows and light better.

Mariana Hernandez - Whenever I do my work, I think of how to comfort others. Some ways that people comfort themselves are by immersing their minds in another world. This world varies in different ways, they can range from just normal places in the world to places that make no sense. I try to give these places a physical form and help them know that they are recognized.

Jaela Roberts - The forest is a a painting me and my mom worked on together I did one said and she did the other side and it was a good bonding experience for us as I do art and things a she doesn't so it was fun for her to learn. The plague doctor was based on how fascinating I find the black plague as I've done multiple essays on it and I've always found it so interesting so I drew a plague doctor and someone with the plague to show my interest. The canvas is of one of my Oc's who originally had a very regular face but due to recent events that's not the case anymore but Despite everything it is still him.

Jaqueline Jacobo - To create this art work I used oil paint and micro markers. I sketched up what I wanted my art work to look like and once I had created an outline on the paper or canvas I got to painting or drawing the basics, saving the details last. The inspiration behind these pieces was girl hood and different emotions we go through or experiences we have. That being irritation, not being seen, wanting a connection with someone, and not feeling aligned with your body. I want to show that it's okay to feel this and know that it's a universal experience, wether or not it should be in the first place.

Alyssa Garrison - For my piece, "Talk to me" I depicted an open mouth with the title in newspaper letters. i believe that this artwork should send a message that it's honestly agonizing to be ghosted and it feels like you cant tell anyone cuz duh thats embarrassing. Chloe Daniel - The process I use to create my artwork are just a pencil, an eraser, and sometimes paint. Some days I am really down so I just start drawing. It helps me with my emotions. The message is nothing. It’s just express your feelings through art and create something that makes you happy. Happiness is key to everything.

Roger Penaloza - I was thinking of making a dark side and a light side of the planets. So I came up the idea of the light of earth and the darkness of space. I drew the landscape of my painting first and I used acrylic paint from art class to create my painting. My message of my painting is that mother nature does a lot of things for us and space created stars to light up the darkness.

Wendy Perez - For this painting, I got various inspiration from Pinterest. My original idea was to do a fallen angel, but I wanted to portray that feeling of sadness and pain coming from the tears of the angel. The design in the feathers show how they came to turn from white to black as well as in the dress. I decided to use oil paint as my medium because it feels more manageable to mix the colors but also shows texture in the painting.

Alondra Delgado - The inspiration within this artwork was based on our beloved dog/member of our family, who we took in a year ago after they found him as just a stray. Other than having photos of my dog I believe that in having this painting, it’s not only just a painting but it gives it meaning due to how much thought, time, and effort it took. I decided to take the time to paint this because I also want to dedicate it to all the animals that are abandoned and left on the streets with no food water or any form of shelter.

Brandon Leon - The process I used to create this artwork is a deep dive into a vibrant and calming feeling to it by using mixed colors and black and white shading. My great inspiration on these paintings are fond memories I had between them, to my baseball teammates and practices, to a video game that will forever be cherished by heart and desire. I want these paintings to give a brief meaning to somebody who struggles to get an imaginative idea out of their mind and think back into a time where you felt relief or they found diligent and to grab that feeling to put to reality.
